DRAG AID 7 is here! This time we're raising money for the Abunada family.

"Hi, my name is Yasmin and i'm fundraising for a beautiful family who recently arrived from Gaza.

The place that they once called home, was completely destroyed alongside all their personal belongings.

This Palestinian family having recently arrived on special visas, are embarking on a new chapter here in Australia, as they seek refuge from the genocide in Gaza. Stripped of everything they have, they are looking for a fresh start. The rise in rental prices has put a strain on this family and hence has affected their ability to provide basic necessities for an adequate standard of living. With only one sibling working to support the whole family, they are left with close to nothing for other expenses.

They have struggled to secure jobs, due to specific qualification requirements in Australia. Despite their university qualifications and extensive experience retrieved in Gaza, this has shown to be inadequate to employers as the education wasn't received in Australia. Hence, they had to resort to minimum wage jobs which isn't ideal.

Let's help this innocent family settle and feel welcome.
