Drama-based Interventions for Psychological Trauma w. Eliza Oliver
Description
This presentation traces the arc of Eliza's PhD by publication on drama-based interventions for psychological trauma. Four studies make up the program: a systematic review of the existing evidence, a conceptual framework paper that maps dramatic practices to trauma treatment mechanisms through experiential processes, and a qualitative interview study with professional actors who have themselves sought trauma treatment, and a quantitative study examining clinicians attitudes towards adopting drama techniques in treatment. Together the studies ask how the mechanisms at work in dramatic practice might be put to use inside mainstream psychological treatment.
