Draw Your Pet – Kids Drawing Workshop

To celebrate the return of the Dog Agility Games at the A & P Show 2026.

Join Creative Northland for a fun, hands-on workshop where young artists can draw and decorate their very own pet masterpiece.

Bring along a photo of your favourite pet to inspire your artwork, and we'll provide all the drawing materials you need to bring your furry, feathered or scaly friend to life. During the workshop, children will also decorate their own personalised dog tag to take home.

At the end of the session, you'll have a completed artwork ready to submit to the "Made By Me – A Drawing of Your Pet" competition at this year's Whangārei A&P Show on Saturday 5 December 2026. One participant from each workshop session will also win a ticket entry to the Whangārei A&P Show and a workshop winner's ribbon.

Don't have a printed photo? No problem! Email it to the Creative Northland team before the workshop, and we'll have it printed and ready for you on the day.

Workshop Details

Date: Friday 9 October 2026

Choose one session:

• Morning: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

• Afternoon: 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Creative Northland Maker Space
Whangārei Railway Station
Railway Road, Whangārei

Cost: $5 per child (all materials included)

Age requirement: 7 years and over

Capacity: Maximum 12 children per workshop session.
