Drawing in the Whipstick at John Wolseley’s Studio
Event description
Join Bendigo Family Nature Club on a once-in-a-lifetime visit to the bushland studio of pioneering Australian artist John Wolseley!
Working with multiple media, including paper, watercolours, collage, and installations, John has made it his life’s work to ‘discover how we dwell and move within landscape’. Over the last three years, he has documented and painted the habitat of mammals, birds, and reptiles around his extraordinary studio in Victoria’s Whipstick Forest – a living representation of John’s restlessly creative mind.
John has been kind enough to invite members of Bendigo Family Nature Club into this creative space. Visiting John’s studio gives us a personal insight into how the man who describes himself as ‘half-artist, half-scientist’ creates his unforgettable natural visions.
