Drawing Wildlife #1 - Therapy Dogs
Event description
"There is always a feeling of perpetual motion about animals...and side by side with the action of an animal goes its identity" Alexander Calder
Introducing a new kind of life drawing to Melbourne!
Our two hour classes bring a different animal into focus each week, accompanied by their expert handler who'll share with us their equally expert knowledge and experience as we go.
With the opportunity to get up close we'll take these moments to observe their shapes, colours and energy before taking to our materials for drawing, as our tutor Elsie guides and advises with short sketching exercises and longer held poses. If our subjects choose to move we'll take it as a cue to practise catching dynamism!
For our first class we're incredibly excited to welcome Caroline of Pawsever Companions and her two certified therapy dogs Bindi and Anika. These two gentle whippets have formed beautiful bonds with folks across Melbourne who truly know the heartening benefits that come with close animal interaction.
We have every belief that as well as your drawings and your newly planted prompts about life drawing, you''ll also leave with some amazing animal facts and a warm fuzzy feeling.
Paper, charcoal, pencils and crayons are supplied however please feel free to bring your own preferred materials.
Tea is also provided.
Doors open at 6.20pm for a prompt 6.45 start!
