DreamStorm: Mapping Our Collective Liberation Commitments: Sun Jan 26
Event description
This workshop is for THOSE OF US WHO ARE COMMITTED TO COLLECTIVE LIBERATION and are also neurospicy
and also badly need to organize all our shit
I came up with this after my first video "Making the movement accessible." I know that so many of us care SO MUCH. and also, sometimes that care + capitalism + our own neurospicy needs characteristics get stuck together and its hard to untangle.
And then we freeze. This can look like hyperfixing on one social issue, unable to see the bigger picture. This can look like being so overwhelmed with what to and where and how that we drop it all on the floor
So we will be making our own Collective Liberation maps!
On our maps we will slot in 3 - 5 of each:
- Issues (in general) we know enough about to speak about in plain language
- Countries we know enough about to speak about in plain language
- Issues we have heard about but want to and need to learn more
- Countries we have heard about but want to and need to learn more
- What Earth/Environmental issues do I want to learn more/focus on?
- Organizations/ organizers that you trust
- Organization/ organizers you want to learn more about
- Successful movements in history to study deeply
- Successful local ( where you are physically located) movement to study
- The needs/movements/demands of your local *digital* communities
- The needs/movements/demands of your local *physical located* community
- Who am I able to/want to give mutual aid to on a regular basis?
- Who do I want to think about emergent mutual aid to? Think: if you can't give consistently, who comes up for you when you do have it?
- What are you able to boycott?
- What can you not?
- Our favorite qualities about ourselves
- What do you need people for/what can you not do without others?
- What energizes YOU? Think: skills, care, etc.
- What are YOU good at?
- What is your lane/niche?
- What digital planforms are you on?
- What changes to digital platforms to you want to make?
- Who affirms your humanity?/ Who are your people?
