Description

The Present Moment as a Living Experience

On Sunday 8 November, our Drop‑In Meditation & Dharma class turns toward one of the most foundational aspects of practice — the present moment.

Many of us hear the phrase “be present” so often that it begins to sound like a slogan rather than a practice. During this session, we’ll slow things down and look at presence in a more grounded, human way.

We’ll explore how the present moment becomes real through the body — through sensation, breath, and the simple act of noticing what’s here. Rather than treating presence as an idea or an ideal, we’ll approach it as something lived: a way of meeting experience with steadiness, clarity, and a little more ease.

This is a gentle, beginner‑friendly exploration. No pressure, no complexity — just clear guidance and time to practise together.

Guided Walking Meditation

To support this exploration, the session includes a guided Walking Meditation. Walking practice offers a beautiful way to steady attention: each step becomes a reminder to return, to feel, to settle.

We’ll move slowly and deliberately, using the rhythm of the body to cultivate grounded awareness. For newcomers, this often becomes one of the most accessible ways to understand mindfulness in action.

A Simple Dharma Reflection

After practice, we’ll share a short Dharma reflection on how presence can be carried into daily life. These teachings are practical and down‑to‑earth — small ways to return to immediacy when the mind becomes scattered or reactive.

The aim is not perfection, but familiarity: learning how to recognise the present moment and gently return to it again and again.

A Welcoming Space for All

Our Drop‑In classes are designed to be open, friendly, and easy to join. Whether you’re new to meditation or returning after some time away, you’ll find a calm space to breathe, settle, and reconnect.

All welcome — beginners and returning practitioners.
