Drop-In Tutored Life Drawing for Beginners - Wednesday April 23rd

Learn the basics of life drawing and still life and be closer to producing an artwork worthy of an exhibition!

You will be taught by Emilie Syme-Lamont - artist and owner of Shivers Gallery in Brunswick. You will learn to capture and create a still life artwork as well as the classic posing figure by developing and refining your own life drawing style, using both classic and modern techniques.

This is a great opportunity for artistic expression as well as partaking in a community experience. Express your artistic side and meet budding artists and new friends.

Lessons cover:

• Still life elements
• Life drawing the classic female form
• Continuous line drawing
• Gestural drawing
• Several mediums including pencil, charcoal and other materials
• How to draw in proportion and master foreshortening
• What the ideal sketch paper and medium is for you
• Homework and research for your continuing art practice
• Materials provided - sketch pad, pencils, charcoal etc.

Time:

7:00-9:00pm

(Please arrive 15 minutes early for set up).

Class numbers:

Limited to a maximum of 16 students.

Materials

You will be provided paper, pencils, charcoal and some course material to continue your life drawing practice. Students are welcome to bring their own materials as well. 

Refreshments

Tea, coffee and water will be provided or purchase a glass of wine for a gold coin donation with proceeds going to charity.

In the case of your teacher or model is unable to attend substitutes will be arranged.
