Dry Point and Monotype Printing Six Week Course - Term 3
Event description
Join visual artist Cecilia Jacobs for an immersive 6-week printmaking workshop, where you will learn the intricate techniques of drypoint etching and monotypes. This course is designed for both beginners and experienced artists seeking to expand their skills in printmaking.
In the first three weeks you will be introduced to drypoint etching techniques and processes from scratching, inking and wiping to create subtle variations in light and shadows. In the following weeks you will be introduced to a different method of printmaking techniques called monotype exploring positive and negative space. Learn how to use both additive (applying ink) and subtractive (removing ink) methods. Through the use of multiple colours, you'll also gain an introduction to basic colour theory.
By the end of the six weeks, you will have produced a series of prints to take home as well as essential skills and best practice to continue printmaking.
All inks, tools and plates are provided including a set paper limit per student.
