Drypoint printmaking
Event description
In a weekend workshop with master printmaker David Willis, you will learn the fundamentals of Drypoint printmaking.
Drypoint is an engraving method like etching, but there are no chemicals or specialised equipment. It's all about making a mark; drypoint is often softer than etching and encourages expressive linework. In this small group workshop, you can explore the materials and find out about inks, 'burrs' and plates, and produce a line-based image that you can print again and again.
- Saturday 4 May 9am to 2pm (with a break) - You will draw your image, and then etch it onto a plastic plate.
- Sunday 5 May 9am to 2pm (with a break) - You will print your image with the KAN etching press to produce an elegant artwork on paper.
This is a small group workshop. All materials and equipment are provided.
