Drypoint Printmaking Workshop


Event description

Participants will be introduced to fine art printmaking mediums (Intaglio, Relief, Planographic & Stencil). They will learn about the Intaglio printmaking medium through their own creation of a multi-plate drypoint print utilizing plexiglass plates. 

The classes will cover: 

  • Overview of the conventional fine art printing mediums 
  • Demonstration and discussion of materials & equipment used in Intaglio printing. 
  • Designing and drawing an image 
  • Creating an image on the plate, utilizing a variety of tools and mediums 
  • Inking and printing a plate, using the conventional intaglio method 
  • Demonstrate different materials that can be used for a drypoint plate 
  • Set up press and registration, for multi-plate print  

This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, no previous skills in the printmaking mediums required. 

Workshop fee 

The Price covers both dates - Monday 16 September and Mon 23 September 2024, 5:30pm – 8:00pm  

You need to be able to attend both dates

The workshop fee includes all materials, including fine art rag paper, inks, plates and use of tools and equipment whilst in the studio.

This process uses non toxic products.
