Event description

All aboard! Join us as we step back in time for an evening of networking with industry colleagues and train rides of course!

Tasmanian Transport Museum
2B Anfield St, Glenorchy

Wednesday 27th March 2024
4.30pm - 6.30pm

Nibbles and some drinks will be provided.

The Tasmanian Transport Museum Society was founded in 1962, with the aim of preserving items of transport that were disappearing from everyday life in Tasmania. The extensive collection celebrates and educates visitors on Tasmania's rich transport history, featuring two of Hobart’s electric trolley buses and the only double-decker tram to survive from the late 1940s. Amongst the railway collection is the oldest carriage to operate in Tasmania (AB1 – built in the UK in 1869). The first Main Line diesel-electric locomotive (X1) to operate in Australia and the last built English Electric locomotive ZA6. A number of Steam locomotives are also on display.

We will also be joined by the team from the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), the peak industry association for the Australian inbound tourism industry sector. ATEC supports the commercial networks of members participating in the international tourism industry, by facilitating commercial connections, and advocating to government for support and removal of impediments to growth to broaden export opportunities.

Spaces for this event are very limited, so register now to avoid missing out!

You will notice our ticketing for events looks a little different this year as we move across to Humanitix, an Australian based company creating positive social impact in communities around the world. We will also be doing our part, promoting Tasmanian causes and encourage you, if possible, to donate when selecting your ticket.

We are able to deliver Tips and Tipples events to our members free of charge as part of their membership benefits package, however, if you are not a partner or financial member of DST and would like to come, or if you are a member and would like to bring a guest, please contact us. Please let us know if you have any specific access requirements.
