Established in 1872 as a grand summer retreat for pastoralist Suetonius Officer, Duneira is one of the significant surviving hill stations of Mount Macedon. Today, the estate offers a rare opportunity to experience the house and gardens together and to discover the people, collections and landscape that have shaped Duneira across generations.

Your guided tour begins within the historic house, where beautifully preserved interiors provide an intimate glimpse into life at Duneira during the late a800's and early 1900's. Wander through rooms filled with the remarkable collections of Duneira’s last private owner, Stuart Stoneman, including works of art, books, rugs, furniture and objects gathered over a lifetime.

From the house, the tour continues into Duneira’s magnificent gardens.

Explore sweeping lawns, established garden borders and quiet pathways beneath an extraordinary canopy of mature trees. Discover the romantic Secret Garden, seasonal displays and significant specimens that speak to Mount Macedon’s celebrated horticultural history.
