Organized by the Mithila Cultural Society Australia (MCSA), this year's Mahotsav marks a historic milestone as we welcome Maa Bhagavati to our celebrations through three sacred days of Matrika Puja, bringing together devotion, culture, and community under one roof. From 17th to 19th October 2026 at Quakers Hill Community Hall, Sydney, the festival will showcase the rich traditions of Mithila—the sacred land of King Janaka and Goddess Sita. Inspired by the timeless values of spirituality, scholarship, art, and family, Mithila Mahotsav aims to preserve and promote our cultural identity for future generations. The festival will feature: • Grand Arrival of Maa Bhagavati • Three Days of Matrika Puja (Maha Saptami, Maha Ashtami & Maha Navami) • Traditional Bhog and Community Darshan • Mithila Cultural Programs • Dance, Drama, Music, Poetry and Folk Traditions • Madhubani Art and Cultural Exhibitions • Community Networking and Family Activities • Open Cultural Participation for Wider Communities More than just an event, Mithila Mahotsav is a celebration of belonging, identity, and collective spirit. It serves as a platform for Maithils across Australia to reconnect with their roots, share their traditions with the broader community, and strengthen the bonds that unite us.
