Understanding New DV Laws: Coercive Control & Family Law Reforms
Event description
This FREE workshop is designed for service providers supporting individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Join us for an in-depth session on the latest legal reforms, including the new coercive control laws and recent family law reforms.
Hala Abdelnour, an expert in coercive control, will provide insights into the complexities of coercive control and its implications. This will be followed by a legal discussion led by Horizons Family Law Centre, focusing on key family law reforms and their practical applications for frontline workers.
Horizons Family Law Centre is a non-profit legal service that has been operating since 2005. Horizons provides free and low-cost legal help for people experiencing family breakdown who can’t otherwise access a lawyer, with a focus on parenting disputes, safety & family violence and child support. Lucy is a Senior Solicitor of Horizons Family Law Centre and, as part of her current role, Lucy oversees a free legal clinic in Sydney North.
