    Event description

    Is your practice really inclusive of diverse communities?

    Have you listened to women and gender diverse people with lived experience in the sex industry?

    The Supporting Women and Gender Diverse People in the Sex Industry: 5 hours of self-paced learning within 3 weeks will teach you:

    • The types of barriers that are unique to women and gender diverse people with diverse experiences in the sex industry and how to remove those barriers in your own workplace;
    • Specific language to use (and not to use) to establish trust and understanding;
    • Do’s and don’ts of effectively providing services to women with diverse experiences in the sex industry using trauma-informed principles;
    • How to access specialist referral pathways to help ensure that women receive the services they require;
    • Increased skills and knowledge to build your inclusive practice, based on the lived experiences of women.

    Plus:

    • The components, indicators and support pathways for people who have experienced trafficking for sexual exploitation.

    The course will run for three weeks, and we anticipate that it will take approximately 5 hours to complete, made up of:

    • Self-paced individual activities and content to read, watch and participate in the Cahoot platform
    • Online reflections and interactions with other course participants
    • Two live virtual sessions - at the start, and a voluntary drop in session mid-way through the course. Each one will run for up to an hour.

    Cahoot Learning will send you a login email to the course before the course starts. The E-learning course will remain open for 3 weeks, ending at 5pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024.
