Early Childhood Admissions Tour

This event has passed Register

Event description

Learn what makes a school made just for young children so special by going inside the Early Childhood division at Corlears School with a group tour led by Admissions Director Meredith Orloff. Participants will get the chance to ask questions and explore our facilities, including the dynamic classroom spaces from toddler through PreK.

Capacity is limited — let us know if you won't be able to make it so that other families may attend.

Children are welcome, but this event will be geared toward their grown-ups so their mileage may vary.

-----------------

The Early Childhood division at Corlears School follows an emergent curriculum; this means that after careful observation of the children's interests and development needs, teachers introduce new materials, re-design classroom spaces, and pave the way for further experimentation and inquiry. This progressive approach to learning sets the stage for everything to come by instilling a lifelong love of learning.

Families can start their child's Corlears journey as early as 16 months with the Roots program, where toddlers are empowered to build confidence in new environments, paving the way for healthy separation from the child’s primary caregiver and influencing their capacity to build friendships with peers.

By enrolling your child in Corlears School, their path from toddler to 12th grade is clear — through a middle school enrollment partnership with The Calhoun School, all Corlears students are guaranteed admission into Calhoun's sixth grade. This, alongside a robust outplacement program, ensures that your child will find their best-fit school in their journey beyond Corlears. By the time our students are embarking on the outplacement process in fifth grade, they know themselves as learners, they are confident in who they are as individuals, and they hold values that help them determine what type of middle school resonates with them most.
