Description

Through a series of conversations since “Covid” a small group of people paused to consider how how much control” we really have over our lives and the lives of our children into the future?

We have faced the reality of a world that we see is inreasingly ‘connected’ and yet deeply divided and disconnected from each other, and from all other living beings.

We notice this has caused deep uncertainy about who we are as human beings?

Together we also know that the feeling of disconnection is an illusion!

We are not islands we are all connected and inerdependent and in many ways entangled.

Our Village Collective Collective was formed through these conversations and a series of workshops including deep dialogue, warm data labs, awareness-based practices and calling upon the wisdom of an indigenous elder, Kankawa Nagarra. Her personal stories, dreamtime stories and her paintings that share the way of being we call Ears of the Heart.

Through this learning journey through the past year, we are co-creating ways to bridge uncertainty, overwhelm and frustration to navigate what is ours to do and, as Einstein says, “solve the problem from a different point from that in which it was created”.

Our Village Collective acknowledges that ‘it takes a Village to raise a child’

The gathefing we have held and will continuen to hold on the Mornington Peninsula will always hold these questions at the centre.

What conditions do we need to have in ‘Our Village’ to raise our children well?

And how do we work to create the conditions and agency for our children to flourish?

What capacties must we develop to create the condtions for children, youth and young adults to Flourish on the Mornington Peninsula?

We have begun to host gatherings and events to explore and learn together.

It is our hope many will join us to co-create the highest future possibility for chidlren, youth and young adults to flourish on the Lands of the Bunarong people/ Mornington Peninsula.
