Event description

'Are you feeling the call to create your very own Shamanic Medicine Drum?

Join us for a weekend of transformation and connection.
Be guided on your journey, held in a ceremonial container, as you create your own Medicine Drum.

The drum is an ancient instrument that is pan-cultural and has been used all over the world for thousands of years.
The beat of the drum runs through our veins. It's the first sound we hear when we are in our mothers womb, the sound of our mothers heart beat.
And it is said that the drum beat, is the heart beat of Mother Earth.
With the drum we can heal, send out prayers and release and transmute energies.
The drum beat guides us on our journey's into and out of the shamanic realms.
It is more then just a drum, it is a companion on our medicine path.

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual practice, containing the tools for direct communion with the Spirit World.
Throughout the weekend we will learn the basic fundamentals of journey work, accessing shamanic realms safely and how to work with our Spirit guides with integrity and respect.
We will learn about our birth imprint and how this effects the way we create in the world.

Taking place at Beltane the High Spring Solar festival. This is the time when we celebrate the union of the divine masculine and feminine and the fertility, growth and abundance this union brings. Harnessing the celestial energies of this time to be infused into the medicine of your drum, to assist in the healing of ourselves, our community and the Earth.

This weekend is held in a container of ceremony, ritual and reciprocity to the Land and Waters that hold us.

We will be working with the totemic energies of Ash Tree – The World Tree, known as Yggdrasil in Celtic Myth, and Fallow Deer Hide - Associated with the Heart Chakra, integrity and vigilance.

Honouring the Tree and Animal of our drum, learning about and connecting to their medicine with reverence.

Hides are cut by hand and soaked overnight in living waters, which have been blessed with prayer and songs of gratitude.

Drums are woven on the second day, by the end of the weekend you will walk away with a beautiful, handcrafted shamanic tool that resonates with your Spirit.

Please Note:

Cutting dry deer hide will require a certain level of physical strength and stamina, please ensure you're in a good physical condition before commencing this work.

The drums take around one week to dry before they can be played.
