Earth Doll Workshop with Visionary Artist ROSIE MAC!

Event description

Earth Dolls are wee bundles of gathered joy!

Each doll emerges from the hands of the maker who has tapped into their unique world of imagination and story.

As your Earth doll takes shape and form, special energy grows between you, potentially unlocking your connection with your inner world.

Creating your Earth Doll becomes a journey of discovery. It is in this ‘flow’ state during the creative process that important insights into self may be received.

Art making acts at the level of the spirit because art is the language of the spirit!

Making your doll can be a beautiful healing process that may be powerfully moving in nature.
When you create an Earth doll you are reflecting the loving spirit that moves through your heart, mind, and hands to show or teach you something.
Your unique doll becomes infused with your energy as you create with the elements and bring her into this world. It is not about making a perfect form.. it is all about the invitation to create that which inspires you, the maker, to play with what is in front of you  (the critic is given full permission to just toddle off!).
The inclusion of gathered organic matter brings a certain sacredness to the creative process. Known as "ecological spirit", others may think of this in the dimension of shamanism. The Earth doll has a gentle way of teaching you how to listen deeply to these elements and energies which may guide and inspire your artistic creation.
The changing seasons offer us unique gifts: seedpods, flax flowers, feathers, sea shells and so forth. These gathered or found organic items will add meaning and story to your Earth doll. Her completed form will be a talisman of your connection to nature, intuition, and creativity.
This is an invitation into your own field of consciousness, your innate CREATIVE force, and encourages you to share the most vital of aspects of yourself through creative self-expression, allowing you to step into your own power and authority.
This is an invitation for you.. for you to celebrate LOVE as being the fabric of the Universe, in all its forms, and leads you to honour the Sacredness of that which is your SELF!

About Rosie Mac- https://www.rosiemac.nz/

I chose nursing as a career and spent 42 years working in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom. A nudge to paint as a form of self-care emerged in 2012 and despite being told I couldn’t draw when I was 14, I nervously “had a go”. I did almost two years of part time classes doing landscapes and still life, but something seemed to be missing.

I wanted something more but didn’t know what that was and painting from a photograph didn't provide the creativity I was looking for.

I then began taking different classes in different mediums and techniques at The Drawing Room in Christchurch to explore and expand my creative side. The classes were both fun and satisfying.

In 2013 a chance encounter on Facebook with a newly graduated Intentional Creativity© Facilitator Denise Daffara of Australia and subsequent introduction to Kerry Lee, from the San Francisco Bay area, USA introduced me to Intentional Creativity©. This method of art had heart, and I was completely captivated by its mystery and magic. It was “an aha moment” when the light went on! I decided to undertake the nine-month Intentional Creativity© Teacher Training so that I could share the method with others.

The next few years was a very personally difficult period in my life. My two brothers died of cancer within a year of each other, and I sustained a head injury, subsequently developing ongoing concentration issues.

"I can honestly say that I would not have been able to navigate that time in my life if I hadn’t had the compass of Intentional Creativity© and the wonderfully supportive group of like- minded women in the Intentional Creativity© community.
Bringing mindfulness and intention to the art process created a different perspective and experience for me"

I am proud to call myself a Visionary Artist and Intentional Creativity© Facilitator and am now sharing my passion for a process that needs no previous experience that anyone with an open heart and an open mind can do.

Not on a superficial level, but a REAL connection and support.
The Red Tent is a place for women to feel that connection and to offer and receive that support."

Red Tent Aotearoa has the aim to connect, collaborate, and create a community of strong and educated women in a supportive & nurturing environment.
We establish community networks and support between women by hosting local gatherings, and events in what we call “Red Tents."
Red Tent Aotearoa is not religious, and we invite anyone who identifies as female from 11 years + from all walks of life.

FAQ: What is the Red Tent and what do you do there?
The Red Tent movement is worldwide and stemmed from the book The Red Tent written by Anita Diamant.
Red Tents are spaces created by women, for women to come each month and share their stories, relax, feel nurtured, seen, and heard. There is nothing required of you and the main goal is for you to relax, recharge and reset.
Each month at Red Tent Aotearoa is different, we invite a different woman to share her experience and interest with us so that we all can learn and become more confident. Some of our themes in the past have been; The Power of Pleasure, The Power of Identity, The Power of the Spoken Word, The Power of Positive Touch, and The Power of Humility. Our belief is that 'Power-with' instead of 'Power-over' will change the world.
Who is the host and why does she do this?
Jill Genet is the founder of Red Tent Aotearoa and Red Tent Australia.
She is a Holistic Counsellor and Business Mentor with Conscious Consulting NZ. Born in Ōtautahi, Christchurch, she left when she was 18 and returned 28 years later in 2020. Jill is a community-focused change-maker with a devotion to non-profit organisations and a passion for non-violent communication. She has dedicated the last 10 years of her life to starting, growing, and sharing Red Tent Australia and now Red Tent Aotearoa as an organisation that helps start and support the birthing of Red Tent circles all over the country.
Jill believes in the power of Red Tent circles to heal the women of the world and in doing so the ripple effect will be felt across the globe.
What do I bring?
Please bring a snack to share, and a journal to capture aha moments and your water bottle. Some warm socks in winter and maybe even a blankie so you can be cozy. Bring an open heart and a longing for connection.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No, we will have a list of attendees and will have already made space for you in our hearts.
What type of women come to Red Tent?
Women from all age groups, all backgrounds, beliefs, and countries. Women who are ready for a shift, women who are tired of the status quo, women who want deeper connection to themselves and others.
