Event description

Earth Wind and Choir is a pop-up choir led by renowned local Illawarra musicians Elana Stone and Duncan Rintoul. It was launched in the Illawarra region in 2018 with the intention of building friendships, joy, music and connection. The choir reinterprets and performs an eclectic mix of songs, from the likes of Tears for Fears and Blink 182, to Fleet Foxes and The White Lotus theme - and everything in between. Elana and EWC have workshopped and performed at Thirroul Music Festival, Blue Mountains and Woodford Folk Festival.

In a world that feels increasingly disconnected and divided it’s becoming more and more important to get in a room with other humans and sing, tell stories and make art. It regulates our nervous systems, increases oxytocin levels and decreases cortisol (lowering stress). It can also rapidly result in feelings of connection and flow – improving our mood, strengthening sense of identity and helping out long and short-term memory.

This workshop is open to all ages and abilities.

There is no audition process or previous experience is required. Just turn up ready to sing!
