EARTH PRAYER | Cacao & Dance Ritual | Outdoor Experience | Wānaka
Description
Earth Prayer | Cacao and Dance Ritual | Outdoor Experience
"When we give ourselves over completely to the spirit of the dance, it becomes a prayer."
-
Join us this Sunday for a gathering to honour this earth we have the privilege of walking on — through the ritual of cacao medicine and the movement of our bodies.
Sometimes there are no words that can truly speak our hearts. So during this gathering, we turn to movement as prayer — moving for healing and gratitude, for life and for Mother Nature.
We will be communing together under the poplar trees, next to the flowing Mata-Au (Clutha) river in Albert Town. Bare feet dancing on the earth as the altar.
A quiet spot where we get to pray, drink, offer and dance - (Exact location shared after booking).
If the weather doesn't work out for us, we will be joining again at the watersports facility in Wānaka - we will make a call early morning and send out an email reminder.
We'll begin with cacao, prayer, and organic sound — calling ourselves into presence and preparing the inner ground for intentional movement. This will be lead by Connie Causa, a ritual holder and lover of cacao.
Followed by a Somatic Dance, led by Ceri Blythe. This movement session will be a sensory experience. An invitation to move slowly and mindfully - heightening the senses, feeling the world that we can touch, hear, smell, see. A nourishing and deep journey - experiencing ourselves as earth, and earth as us.
-
This is a beautiful opportunity for anyone who has felt the pain of nature and humanity, and felt the call to gather in deep intention. Praying together through movement is a powerful form of individual and collective healing — and a way of giving back to the earth that holds us.
So let's gather, and offer our movements and breath together, as an Earth Prayer.
"It is a prayer for the future, a remembrance of the past and a joyful exclamation of thanks for the present." — Amelia Atwater-Rhodes
