ABOUT THE CLASS

Eat Well for Older People - come along to Lairg & District Learning Centre, where we’ll meet in person as a small, friendly group and join a live online course delivered exclusively for our group by Kirsteen from Edinburgh Community Food, an award-winning REHIS-accredited training centre.

Handbooks and certificates are included.

This practical course provides key insights and guidelines on healthy eating, tailored nutritional needs, and strategies to promote wellbeing in later life.

Who is this for? This half-day course is ideal for older individuals looking to maintain their health, as well as family carers, support workers, and anyone professionally involved in the care of older people.

What you will learn:

• Practical, everyday strategies to help older adults eat well and enjoy their food.

• Key nutritional needs as we age and how to overcome common eating challenges.

• Simple, accessible ways to promote healthy habits in a home or care setting.

• Date: Wednesday 18th November

• Time: 9:30am – 1:00pm

• Location: Join us at the Learning Centre for hot drinks and healthy snacks; we will join the online session together as a group.

Please note: A minimum of 8 participants is required for this course to run.

Edinburgh Community Food is a pioneering charity and social enterprise dedicated to making fresh, healthy, and affordable food accessible to everyone. Operating with the simple aim to "get people into healthy food, and healthy food into people", they tackle food poverty and promote wellbeing through community food programs, cooking initiatives, and REHIS-accredited health and hygiene training.

Established as a Registered Charity in 2001, the Lairg & District Learning Centre is an educational hub bringing community sessions, accredited courses, and personal development opportunities to Sutherland and beyond.
