Eating Country - A Long Lunch On Country at Djanaba Farm
Description
Eating Country to Save Country.
The world’s oldest continuous culture managed, cultivated and acted as custodians over a continent that holds a food story that is 65,000 years. In 2026, Djanaba Farm stands as a monument to the re-awakening of this story and of what Caring for Country means and requires.
On Saturday 28 November, Djanaba Farm will open its gate for you to experience this story with an afternoon of food, story and Country. It's part of Finding Nature’s ongoing program with Jocelyn King, Eating Country to Save Country, which reconnects people with land through the food it gives us.
We'll begin with ceremony and story, followed by drinks and appetisers as you settle in. By walking the farm together Jocelyn will share its origins, history, vision and progress so far.
From there, and overlooking the Monkerai River Valley, we will settle in to enjoy the peerless Gus_tronomy serve a three-course long lunch drawing on produce from the farm and the region. Glasses will be filled courtesy of our friends at Tinshed Brewery in Dungog and Dharawal Spirits.
This is a long, unhurried afternoon at one table with 30 like-minded and hearted people. You'll leave nourished in every sense.
You'll also be looked after by a small crew of ten who've spent the days before living and working on the farm as part of our Djanaba expedition. Every dish, pour and welcome is part of their experience on Country.
