Event description

Eating the Industrial Gas Elephant: One piece at a time, we digest what it takes to electrify industrial process heat while supporting decarbonisation of electricity markets at scale

Gas markets, electricity markets, renewable energy and industrial process engineering have evolved over time as distinct disciplines. Yet the challenge of electrifying industrial process heat while rapidly decarbonising the electricity grid requires all disciplines to align on a common goal. This is a capability alignment challenge, as much as a technical and financial one.

This session will filter insight from macro to micro, covering gas and renewable energy market trends nationally, state based renewable energy price trends and the role of flexible pricing, through to what it takes to get projects done on the ground.

The session is designed as a large group conversation, with short presentations focused on distilled insight, followed by open dialogue with panel members. Come to learn, and come to contribute. The goal is to walk away motivated and ready to get projects done together.

Speakers include:

  • Perry Wilson, Rystad, Head of advisory ANZ
  • Travis MacLachlan, Flow Power, Commercial Solutions Manager
  • Michael Simioni, GHD, Executive Advisor – APAC Regional Decarbonisation Leader
  • Tom Geiser, Rondo, Head of Australia
  • Will Furness, MGA Thermal, Head of business development
