Ebony Eyes: Crafting Connections

Event description

Join the Elizabeth River Project on September 7th for an afternoon of reflection, creativity, and connection as we delve into Blacks of the Chesapeake founder Vince Leggett’s powerful lecture and presentation on his book, The Chesapeake through Ebony Eyes the prior evening at the Ryan Resilience Lab. Presented in partnership with Black-owned business Studio Kuumba, this free community workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore Black history through artistic expression.

Engage in meaningful conversations and hands-on crafting sessions, focusing on collage and jewelry-making, as means to connect and heal in the spirit of the Black history unfolded by Vince Leggett. Attendance at the September 6 lecture not required to attend this workshop.

All are welcome – Donations appreciated to support a healthy Elizabeth River and our commitment to providing equitable access to our river programming
