EMERGING CONCERT ARTIST SERIES

Exceptional Young Artists Sharing the Joy of Music

Expanding experience and inspiring enthusiasm – The Sydney Conservatorium String Ensemble performs under the direction of Goetz Richter to bring masterworks to life in entirely unheard conceptions. These musicians perform with a transformative intuition. Their program will feature:

  • Ottorino Respighi’s enchanting Ancient Airs and Dances.

  • Leoš Janáček’s youthful & romantic Suite for String Orchestra.

  • Gerard Brophy, Song Over the Land, composed for the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Australian Strings Association and inspired by the poetry of the Austrian poet and novelist, Rainer Maria Rilke.

Goetz Richter AM is a violinist, teacher and thinker with a dual background in music and philosophy. He is currently Associate Professor at the University of Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music where he co-ordinates performance studies for violinists.

EMERGING CONCERT ARTISTS

Musicians are storytellers, and music is their language. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for a memorable musical experience with some of Australia's leading young performers. Wollongong Art Gallery hosts the concert as part of its Public Program.  Visit the Gallery and view their latest exhibitions and hear a concert! Entry is by donation.

We pay our respect to the Traditional Custodians, their Ancestors who cared for this Country for many thousands of years, and their Elders and descendants who continue to care for the Country. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
