EMERGING CONCERT ARTIST SERIES presents

Elsa Li & Lucas Wang

Exceptional Young Artists Sharing the Joy of Music

A program rich with favourite composers from J.S. Bach and the classical charm of Haydn and Beethoven through to the romantic voices of Chopin, Scriabin and onto the twentieth century with Debussy, Albeniz and Rachmaninov. Link to programme

Xingyao (Elsa) Li and Lucas Wang study in the Rising Stars Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with Natalia Ricci. In 2023, Elsa and Lucas participated in the Sydney International Piano Competition Showcase to much praise.

Elsa has also been successful in national and international competitions in recent years. We are pleased to welcome her back; she performed in our first ECAS in 2022. Lucas is the recipient of the Kathleen Holmes McCrea Pianoforte Scholarship and has enjoyed success on numerous occasions in Sydney and Eisteddfods. Lucas has also busked on the streets playing the Hulusi, a Chinese wind instrument.

EMERGING CONCERT ARTISTS

Musicians are storytellers, and music is their language. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for a memorable musical experience with some of Australia's leading young performers. Wollongong Art Gallery hosts the concert as part of its Public Program.  Visit the Gallery and view their latest exhibitions and hear a concert! Entry is by donation.

We pay our respect to the Traditional Custodians, their Ancestors who cared for this Country for many thousands of years, and their Elders and descendants who continue to care for the Country. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
