    Event description

Join two former Presidents of the Australasian Double Reed Society for a program of delightful French music with award-winning pianist Michael Ierace.

Please note some exciting program changes to this event will be announced later in January!!!

“…the French have a keener sense of proportion. We realize that sombreness and good humour are not mutually exclusive. Our composers … write profound music, but when they do, it is leavened with that lightness of spirit without which life would be unendurable." - Francis Poulenc

Presented by Artaria in association with The National Trust of South Australia.

    Players:

Program to include music by Saint Saens, Satie, Germaine Tailleferre and two EXCITING NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS-  coming very soon!!!

“…At the moment I am concentrating my last reserves on giving rarely considered instruments the chance to be heard…” - Camille Saint Saens

“…The essential thing is that it be music. I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t write what I feel. If it gives the impression of being feminine, that’s fine. … I tried to do the best I could, but I never asked myself if it was feminine or not. If it is music, it is music.” - Germaine Tailleferre

Wine on arrival sponsored by Margaret Lehmann, from Peter Lehmann Wines
