Eco Action - Minibeasts

Without invertebrates, humankind would struggle to survive

In this hands-on workshop, participants will interact with a collection of invertebrates, including insects and arachnids. They will learn about invertebrate characteristics, invertebrate habitats and adaptations, and the important roles played by invertebrates in ecosystems.

Every participant will have an opportunity to handle a range of mini-beasts. This might include stick insects, giant burrowing cockroaches, beetles, or caterpillars.

1. This event is for children in Year 1 to Year 6 at school.

2. Please book one ticket for each child attending.

3. Everyone is welcome. Physical and neurological diversity is beautiful. Please let us know if you are bringing a carer, and how we can help with sensory accommodations.

4. If you are sick please cancel your ticket.

5. Caregivers must remain with their children.

Lighting – We have overhead fluorescent lighting.

Sounds – Before and afterward there will be families talking and chatting. There will be excited talking while we do activities.

Participation – Children can sit close to the presenter or sit with their care-giver.

Tactile - There will be an opportunity to touch live animals.

Our space - We will be sitting on the floor. There is seating for people who cannot sit on the floor. There is space for mobility aids. Craft activities will be at low tables.
