About Life Rites:

Life Rites funerals is an independent, doula-led team of holistic funeral directors, celebrants and counsellors. Life Rites operates out of the Boutique Funeral Home in Hurstville, with an onsite mortuary and chapel, which allows the Life Rites team to care holistically for all their people. Life Rites’ care extends to the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Illawarra regions.

Victoria Spence is the founder and director of Life Rites funerals, with over 30 years of developing rites of passage as a foundational practice through being a celebrant, counsellor, holistic funeral director and mortality doula.

Sarah Barry is a new Blue Mountains local and has been working with Life Rites funerals since 2020, after initially volunteering at Sacred Heart Hospice from 2005-2009. She is a mortality doula, celebrant, holistic funeral director and after death carer.
