EcoFest Bird Heroes: BirdCare Aotearoa workshop
Event description
Ever found a sick, injured or orphaned wild bird?
Wild birds need specialised care at dedicated rehabilitators or vets. Each year, 6000 bird heroes bring their rescues to BirdCare Aotearoa- NZ's largest, Dept of Conservation-permitted wild bird hospital. Many species have specific needs, and the conditions of the rescue can determine their recovery journey. Join this workshop, to learn the best practises to safely rescue wild birds in need. The workshop will include a tour of our hospital facilities, and end with light refreshments- including home-grown kawakawa tea.
Connect with fellow bird lovers, and learn how to be the best bird hero. Together, lets give our feathered friends the best chance to return to the wild!
This is a whānau-friendly event, and tamariki-heroes will receive a complementary admission to our Kōtare Kids Club. All registrations will support the life-saving work of our charity.
