Economic Development Via Community Wealth Building Roundtable
Online Event
Event description
This roundtable will bring together leaders and practitioners from regional development agencies, local government, and other agencies to share, learn, solve their latest challenges and innovate.
Under the focus of Economic Development via Community Wealth Building, the roundtable asks participants to discuss the following questions:
- What potential does community wealth building offer for building local economic resilience, diversification and growth?
- How can community wealth building complement and/or optimise your strategic priorities?
- What sectors and industries would immediately benefit from local economic participation?
- How do we empower residents to broadly invest in and have ownership of the local economy, infrastructure and enterprises? How do we give stakeholders an actual stake?
- How do we keep and grow wealth locally? How do we develop enterprises that are anchored locally and reinvest in the region?
- How can we create opportunities for the region to be a magnet for people and investment?
- What are the relationships and ecosystems that foster community wealth
In convening this roundtable our objective is to:
- Offer an enjoyable and engaging session that can revive and inspire you
- Encourage critical thinking and stimulating discussion
- Spark innovative ideas and approaches that can catalyse action and create momentum
- Build a community of practice of regional agencies, local councils, local enterprises and individuals interested in and/or actively implementing community wealth building development strategies in their region and communities.
- Initiate, but also extend the conversation beyond the roundtable to continue in your office, department, region, community and kitchen table.
