Mon, 17 Nov, 8:30pm - 10pm EST

Event description

Co-founded by The Matcha Initiative and The Transmutation Principle, AlterCOP Summits aim to keep corporate and the public informed of COP proceedings and outcomes, facilitate discourse and knowledge learning on corporate sustainability in a localised context, foster collaboration among various actors (professionals, academics, youth, NPOs, community groups, and policymakers) and inspire action.

As Australia prepares to potentially host COP31, we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to open up climate dialogue to all and show that local actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change are already happening across different communities.

Running alongside the United Nations (UN) COP30 agenda, the four-day event will foster grassroots ownership of global climate goals while amplifying local and regional engagement across Australia.

Join Narara Ecovillage for Day 2 of AlterCOP 30 Australia – Sustainable Cities

Ecovillages - Narara Ecovillage

Narara Ecovillage has a lofty Aim:  To nurture a resilient and inclusive intergenerational community that inspires collaboration, innovation and fun; to live with kindness, aware of our interdependence with others and the natural world; and to learn and demonstrate ways to thrive within the earth’s ecological capacity, drawing on Indigenous wisdom and fostering regenerative environmental, social and economic practices.

Tanya Mottl is a member of Narara Ecovillage and resident Global Ecovillage Ambassador, driving Resilient Community projects.  She will moderate a panel of members on how the vision became reality and their regeneration project aims to meet the Sustainable Development Goals, One Planet Living and led to acknowledgement through a finalist place in the Placemaking Category of the NSW Banksia Awards 2024.

Using the Map of Regeneration, we will demonstrate how whole systems design has been utilised and how we use tools from the Global Ecovillage Network to give us a baseline for our impact and resilience.
