Ecstatic Alchemy - Novemeber

Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, sober dance journey with no talking on the dancefloor. We move barefoot to curated music that builds from slow + grounding to peak energy, then lands gently. No steps, no rules, just your body + the music. Come as you are. Leave feeling lighter.

DOORS OPEN 700PM - Please arrive in time for the OPENING CIRCLE at 720PM
Alchemy Set begins 730PM -930PM
Closing Circle 930PM-945PM(ish!)

Ecstatic Dance Guidelines:
Let the body speak. Chat off the floor.
No alcohol, drugs, phones - Be present. Phones stay in your bag/off the floor.
Dance for you - No steps, no partner needed, no eye contact required.
Respect space - Don’t touch without consent. Give people room to move.
Barefoot - Leave shoes at the door. Stay grounded.
Start to finish - Arrive on time for the journey. Doors close when we start.

NO DOOR SALES unless there are unsold tickets on the night!
This is so we can plan to go ahead with enough numbers and email ticket holders with information.

About the Facilitator:
Georgia Leigh Alchemy is an Embodied Wellness Coach, Somatic Dance Facilitator and DJ based in Haruru Falls, Bay of Islands. With training in counselling, creative arts, menstrual wellness + 300hrs somatic dance, she holds space for movement as medicine. Her sessions blend therapeutic presence with freeform dance to help you drop out of your head + back into your body.

please come in, show your ticket at the top of the stairs and take your place in Circle. Please keep chatter to a minimum during this time.

OPENING CIRLCE - We begin at 720PM to open, set the intention, and to begin to drop from our minds into our bodies. You will hear from Georgia Leigh Alchemy - DJ Alchemy, a little bit of an Intro and her intention for the set. Connect with your own intention and get comfortable to begin our dance journey at 7:30PM.

We DANCE! No conversations on the floor please - this is to allow for a moving meditation to take place, ritual time to imbue the space and a deep drop into the body out of the head. You are welcome to take moments for yourself to drink water or cacao, there is fresh air outside on the balcony, but PLEASE be mindful of moving in and out of the dancefloor - your presence matters and is noticed. You are welcome to dance with another but please follow CONSENT RULES - Listen for a YES and Respect a NO. The Universal prayer symbol with hand in front of the chest is our sign to please respect space or a desire to not engage any longer. Absolutely NO touching without consent will be tolerated in this space and those who do not respect this will be asked to leave.

We close the dance at 9:30PM and then hold a short closing circle, everyone can have the opportunity to add a word to reflect their experience, 'pop corn' style. This just means calling out your word so that they all merge together. We close with an Ommmm sound to integrate the experience as well as three breaths together. You are welcome to approach the DJ/Facilitator if you are needing more time to reflect and integrate afterwards. The event closes at 10:00PM. Mojo Dojo then becomes a communal space not associated with Ecstatic Alchemy.

Cacao, decaf coffee is available for purchase.

Smoking is allowed on the balcony, please keep conversation to a min during the dance 730-930PM.

This event is not intended as a space to extend sexual interest to others.

PLEASE be mindful, that this is strictly a space to connect with YOUR body, to enjoy a SOBER dance floor and to respect others in the community with their own processes.

Making new friends is encouraged!

The event ends at 10:00PM and the venue is then open for socializing. If you feel a pull towards someone after the event ends, please be mindful and respectful in your approach.

We are co-creating a space where expression is intended to be able to move freely, for authenticity and respect for others to be maintained.

It is very important that you DO NOT TALK throughout the event and especially at the end as we settle into the integration part of the dance journey. Be mindful of others internal processes.

Ecstatic Dance is a journey out of the head and into the body.
