Prepare to be transported! Mundi's music exudes joy and passion - taking you on a journey filled with global colours, grooves and influences.

Tamara Smith has travelled the world compiling inspiration for her compositions along the way – the result is a blend of South American, West African, Afro-beat, Indian and Eastern European.  They have performed at numerous festivals, and they were chosen to perform on the banks of Avon/Ōtākaro river with Yo-Yo Ma as part of Yo-Yo Ma's Bach Project.

Mundi comprises Ricardo Stuani (percussion), Chris Dabinett (guitar, vocals), Michael Story (bass), Tamara Smith (flute, vocals, percussion) and special guest Magaui Stewart on African drums.

Mundi’s music is like Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti meeting Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson- filled with global colours, grooves and influences. Composer and flautist for Mundi, Tamara Smith has travelled the world compiling inspiration for her compositions along the way - from performing in Jazz clubs in Paris and recording an album in Sri Lanka, to learning traditional Indian flute by the Ganges and warding off Alligators in the heart of the Amazon. Last time Mundi played Ed's Jazz Club they filled the house so get your ticket now to be assured of a good seat.  This is something completely different and it will make you smile....

Come on up to Fat Eddie's for Ed's Jazz Club, every Thursday night.  Reserved Seating will get you your own table on the main floor (best seats in the house) or grab a spot anywhere else with a General Admission ticket.  Fat Eddie's have a delicious menu and of course their ultra special drinks menu, so take Thursday night off and come into town to enjoy some of the best jazz Ōtautahi has to offer.
