Event description

Edd Carr provides insights into an eco-conscious practice.

Join us for an engaging artist talk with Edd Carr, an innovative UK-based artist whose work merges photographic processes with moving images to explore our complex relationship with ecological crises and the broader nonhuman world. Edd Carr's unique approach challenges traditional boundaries of photography and film, creating powerful visual narratives that resonate globally.

In addition to his artistic practice, Edd is a prominent leader of the Sustainable Darkroom, a non-profit organization dedicated to pioneering eco-friendly alternatives in both analogue and digital photography. This initiative underscores his commitment to environmental sustainability, reflecting his belief in the critical intersection of art and ecological responsibility.

Edd's moving image works have gained international acclaim, with exhibitions at prestigious venues such as the Saatchi Gallery in London, the Louis Vuitton’s Coming of Age Exhibition in memory of Virgil Abloh, DAZED CIRCA on London’s Piccadilly Circus screen and Tokyo’s Yunika Vision, and projections on Denver Clocktower in Colorado. His work has also been showcased at The Tetley in Leeds, The Whitworth in Manchester, Fashion Film Festival Milan, and various venues across Brazil.

Throughout his career, Edd has received numerous accolades, including the Channel 4 Random Acts Award, the FLAMIN Film London Fellowship, and the Innovation Award at the EFEA Festival.
