Edible Gardening Made Easy Workshop

With rising costs in food, supply chains breaking, weather events regularly creating scarcity, come along and learn in this workshop just how easy edible gardening can be - and begin to cultivate your own food security on your back doorstep. 

We are certified organic property, and follow biodynamic, natural farming, no-dig/no-till, regenerative agriculture and holistic grazing principles. We feed ourselves, as well as supplying a local restaurant, and the local Waihi Beach Dillon Street stall. 

Edible gardening does not need to be complicated, or take up all of your time. We harness a wonderful no-dig method, as well as aligning all of our gardening tasks with the power of the moon. 

Topics we will cover in this workshop -
- What do these terms even mean?! No-dig / no-till / organic / biodynamic / regenerative agriculture / holistic grazing / natural farming
- How to set up an easy low effort system for growing vegetables
- Building soil structure and fertility naturally
- Growing food using organic methods
- Seeds vs seedlings - how, what, when!
- The basics of raising your own seed
- Using a lunar wheel, or the biodynamic calendar to align to the natural cycles, as well as understanding the flow of Maramataka

Everyone is welcome, no matter where you are on your journey!

Please prepare to be outside for the duration of the workshop. We will also create a sense of community with a shared lunch, please bring a small contribution. Coffee and tea will be provided.
