Edition Two: Marking the second year of PARKER Contemporary
Description
EDITION TWO: UP LATE
Friday 9 October, 7–9pm
In September 2024, Gallery Director and Founder, Emily Parker signed the lease for 38 Hope Street in the Fish Lane Arts Precinct and began building what would become PARKER Contemporary.
Two years on, the gallery has grown through an ambitious program of exhibitions, art fairs, artist projects and conversations—made possible by the artists, collectors, visitors, collaborators and supporters who have gathered around it.
Join us for Edition Two: Up Late, celebrating two years of PARKER Contemporary and the artists who have shaped the gallery’s 2026 program.
Curated across the gallery, Edition Two brings together work by:
Mika Nakamura-Mather
Teeya Ryan
Chris Hagen
Iain Turnbull
Matthew Newkirk
Carolyn Craig
Alethea Richter
Bridget Hillebrand
Geoffrey Burns
Pat Hoffie AM
The exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter the year’s program as a whole, tracing the ideas, materials and approaches that have shaped 2026 and the gallery’s evolving curatorial direction.
In the lead up to our fundraising campaign for AusArt Day, the evening also celebrates the community that continues to invest and support contemporary practice in Queensland.
