Driving On Roads Is Not Enough: Why We Still Need To Make A Feminist Difference

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Budget 2020 has been a major disappointment for women. Rather than policies which take gender into consideration, women were told instead that they could drive on the new roads which will be built.

COVID-19 is not gender neutral in the way it has impacted on our lives. Women are bearing the brunt of the economic and social fallout from the virus. Women have lost jobs, women are being subjected to more domestic and family violence, and more older women are retiring into poverty and homelessness.

Join us for an insightful panel discussion on why we still need to make a feminist difference, and celebrate the launch of the new Edna Ryan Awards website. This webinar is held in memory of the late Susan Ryan, who steered the creation of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and the Affirmative Action (Equal Opportunities in Employment) Act 1986

A 16 days of Activsm Event organised by the Older Women's Network NSW.
