For our April Innovation Breakfast event we'll explore the evolving landscape of education through the insights of three local leaders who are creating impact in our Gippsland region. Each has recently furthered their own education through research or new roles, gaining valuable perspectives on teacher recruitment and retention, inclusive education strategies, and policy shifts shaping the future of learning.

- Shae McGregor, Course Transition and Pathways, TAFE Gippsland
Shae will share insights from her ISS Institute Fellowship research undertaken in the USA, on supporting under-represented learners in Vocational Education and Training (VET). She will discuss strategies to reduce barriers, foster belonging, and improve post-completion success, as well as provide an update on a pilot program developed from her findings. - Paul Boys, Director, Gippsland Tech School and Mobile Tech School
Paul will present findings from his Fulbright Fellowship, exploring teacher recruitment, retention, and professional learning opportunities in Senior Secondary and Community College sectors in California. His work includes a comparative analysis of issues impacting education in Victoria compared to California, USA.
- Adam Hogan, Principal/Leadership Excellence Division, Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership
Adam's work spans both primary and secondary education. He will share insights from his new leadership role, examining key policy shifts influencing local and global teaching practices, based on evidence from research about cognitive science and psychology in education. He will also discuss broader trends in leadership development and succession planning in schools.
