Educator Connect Networking Series
Event description
Educator Connect: Term 2 Networking Session. Advancing Reconciliation
With Special Guests: Lisa Humphreys & Mihi Betham
Join us once a term for Educator Connect, a vibrant networking series created for early childhood professionals to connect, collaborate, and grow. These sessions are a space to exchange ideas, reflect on best practice, and strengthen the outcomes we create for children and families in our local communities.
Term 2 Topic: Advancing Reconciliation
This session will explore ways educators can embed reconciliation meaningfully in their everyday practice. We invite all participants to share their stories, examples, and questions as we create a space for open dialogue, shared learning and collective growth.
These sessions reflect our commitment to the National Quality Standard, particularly around building meaningful partnerships and collaborative learning cultures.
This term, we’re thrilled to welcome two inspiring guest speakers:
Lisa Humphreys, Early Childhood Teacher and Curriculum Leader at Meerilinga Children and Community Services Beechboro. Lisa was recognised as a finalist in the 2023 and 2024 Outstanding Early Childhood Educator category at the Early Childhood Learning & Development Sector Awards.
Mihi Betham, Advisor for Cultural and Community Engagement, whose leadership and deep commitment to cultural responsiveness has enriched practice across our services. Mihi’s dedication has also led the team to be recognised as a 2025 National Excellence in Teaching Award finalist through the prestigious Nita Education Foundation.
Together, Lisa and Mihi will share their journey and practical strategies that contributed to Meerilinga Beechboro’s recent accolade – a 2024 nomination recognising the service’s outstanding commitment to reconciliation and cultural responsiveness at the Early Childhood Learning & Development Sector Awards.
Let’s connect, share, and strengthen our community of passionate educators!
