Join the Australian Teaching and Education Focused Academic Network (TEFA) for a practical conversation with EF leaders from Australian universities who have built and supported grassroots communities within their institutions.

The panel brings together Karin Watson (UNSW), Karena Waller (University of Melbourne), and Mary Wright and Eszter Kalman (University of Sydney), who will share their experiences of building and sustaining Education-Focused communities within their institutions. They’ll explore how they got started, connected colleagues and built momentum, what helped create visibility, recognition and institutional support, and what they have learned along the way. The session will offer practical advice for those looking to establish or strengthen a local EF community, with plenty of opportunities for questions and discussion.

The 45-minute panel will be followed by a 30-minute TEFA Community Conversation, providing space to connect with colleagues, exchange experiences and continue the discussion.
