Join us for a free 1 hour workshop that explores effective ways to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in our school communities. 

Facilitated by our Indigenous Education Officer, Joshua Ahmat, a proud Badu Island man from the Solwata people of the Torres Straits.

Consider:

  • barriers to engagement
  • effective strategies to build rapport with families
  • strategies to create cultural safety

10am-11am AEST via Zoom

This workshop aligns the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (Elective PD) in the following standards: 

7.3 Establish and maintain respectful collaborative relationships with parents/carers regarding their children’s learning and wellbeing.
