efflorescence
Event description
'efflorescence' is a curated night of world-building, scene-less expression, and experimental artistry. Blurring the lines between sound, performance, and digital visuals, the event showcases a genre-defying lineup of bands, DJs, performance artists, and visual creators. Each act crafts their own world—untethered, immersive, and unapologetically original. 'efflorescence' is a celebration of femme emergence, growth and creative rupture.
Lineup:
olza: Standing at the forefront of Naarm’s independent music scene, olza blends experimental textures and IDM rhythms with a unique approach to vocal manipulation that sets her apart in the electronic music landscape.
FΦRNER: Post-punk-ish yet genre defiant, unapologetic, raw, experimental, gritty, femme. FΦRNER is heavy hitting, grooving, introspective and gentle at times. It's inward/outward. Poems and music.
Blush: A captivating fusion of melancholic pop and post-punk aesthetics, Blush is a sound that dances between eerie wistfulness and gritty rawness, the band masterfully weaves together haunting melodies and driving instrumentation to create an immersive auditory experience.
Jag: A raw, genre-bending musician from Melbourne, Jag incorporates elements of spoken word, effortless phrasing and grit, she engages with audiences fearlessly and eagerly. The Artist In Question, her current outsider-soul project, is influenced by the oddities of Frank Zappa, Solange and Arthur Brown. Jag is showing audiences that she is an artist to look out for.
Goo DJ / Feline Fine: curators of the melt parties and mix series, goo dj and feline fine, are fresh out of semi-retirement, back on the 1s and 2s and ready to bring their freak to bell city with a cacophony of mind melting electronica and whacky dance music.
Yollks: a producer, DJ and vocalist based in Naarm, Yollks sound ignites an air of euphoria whilst also allowing one to be grounded in fast paced beats and rhythm on the dance floor. She utilises addictively processed vocal samples and driving basslines to seamlessly fuse breakbeat, DnB and IDM together, ensuring every track is as heavy hitting as the last.
Benita Chimera: the artist who succumbs to the flaws and strengths of their own body and mind in their practice, Benita’s dark alternative aesthetics, the artist, relinquishes conventional structures of Modern Art to promote freedom of expression for all classes.
Claudia Leonard: Claudia Leonard is a multimedia artist working across animation, projection, and installation. Beyond the screen, Claudia transforms clubs, galleries, and public spaces into dreamscapes of shifting symbols and radiant light—seen at spaces such as the Science Gallery Melbourne and Gertrude Street Projection Festival,
