Book Launch | Egypt — For the Discerning Traveller
Love travel, history and its connection to the Bible?
Join local Christian author and Egypt travel specialist Petah-Jane Hall on Bribie Island for a free afternoon celebrating her first book, Egypt for the Discerning Traveller — A Christian Woman’s Perspective.
Drawing on 14 years of travel throughout Egypt—leading tours and travelling alone—PJ will share stories, practical insights and the ancient Christian faith still alive there today. She’ll also share what led her to begin the tours, and the work she does designing bespoke, specialist itineraries for those wanting to experience Egypt on their own.
The book brings together the most popular questions she’s been asked over those years:
What is Egypt really like for women and Christian travellers?
How do you prepare before you go?
Is it safe?
And other inspired tidbits and info!
Alongside all the practical advice, it explores Egypt’s biblical history, extraordinary hospitality and what the headlines leave out—the early Church, the world after the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, the Desert Fathers—and Egypt’s role in shaping and defending our understanding of the Trinity.
She’ll also share her own very unexpected journey to faith in Jesus Christ in Egypt, which she was not expecting, and which began well before she came to know the God of the Bible.
Come along, meet PJ and have your book signed. You’ll also hear a little about her upcoming Egypt and Sinai journey in April 2027.
Whether Egypt is on your travel list, you want to learn more about early Christian history, or you simply enjoy a good story and an afternoon in good company, you’re so welcome.
