Webinar Topic: Our Senior Solicitor, advocates and peer volunteers will cover the most common reasons older people are accessing our services when facing elder abuse. We will cover what you can do if you know someone who may be experiencing abuse, preventative measures such as Enduring Power of Attorney and family agreements. In addition, our peer educators will be on hand to discuss how their volunteering is helping to raise community awareness.

When: 19 May 10-11am

Why: To raise the awareness of elder abuse and the legal, advocacy and supports available to older people.

Who are we?

The Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre (NSCLC) was established in 1996 and is a not-for-profit. Our team is made up of lawyers, advocates, social workers, client support officers, peer educators and other operational staff.

What do we do?

We provide a range of services and programs for vulnerable people to support them with legal issues, housing, safety, education sessions, social work, family domestic violence (FDV), finances and the rights of older people.

One of NSCLC’s specialised programs the Older People’s Rights Service (OPRS), provides free and confidential information, advocacy, legal advice and assistance to adults over 65 years* of age who are at risk of or experiencing elder abuse in Western Australia. *50 years of age for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australian people.

Upon registration, we will email you a confirmation with the Teams link to join the on-line event.
