Event description

Are you a person with disability, organisation who cares about human rights for our community or just curious about what different political parties have to say ahead of the 2025 Federal Election? 

Come along and ask a question about things that are important to you including: leadership, disability pride, employment, housing, community attitudes or the NDIS.

Our panel:

Senator Jordon Steele-John – Australian Greens

Dr Anne Aly MP – Australian Labor Party

Senator Matt O’Sullivan – Liberal Party

Paul Brown – The Nationals

Rachel Siewert – Deputy CEO, WACOSS

Ross Joyce – CEO, AFDO - Update on the Fair Australia (Disability) Election Campaign 

Frances Buchanan – WA State Manager, NDS 

The event will be hosted by Youth Disability Advocacy Network (YDAN) Chief Executive Officer, Isabella Choate, and will include guest speaker Rachel Siewert, the Deputy CEO of WA Council of Social Services (WACOSS).

Triple J Hacked and other media outlets have been invited to cover the event.

Free drinks and snacks will be provided.

Hosted by People with disabilities WA (PWdWA), Youth Disability Advocacy Network (YDAN), Developmental Disability WA (DDWA) and National Disability Services (NDS)

Please advise of any access needs, we will try to organise the event as accessibly as we can but we would like to hear from you if you have any needs to support you to come to the event. We intend to make this a hybrid event on Teams as well as in person, and will welcome any people from regional and remote communities.

Our organisations are committed to including people from diverse backgrounds, including people from First Nations communities, LGBTIQ+ (including double rainbow), people from culturally diverse backgrounds and young people. We also welcome people with all disabilities and celebrate our community which we have pride in. The event is led by people with living experience of disability, and those who work closely with our community.
