Electrify Everything! - Moving Australia to an electric future

This webinar showcases the Electrify 2515 initiative. Electrify 2515 is a project of Rewiring Australia, a movement that encourages everyday households to electrify their homes with renewable energy, as a powerful way to transition to a sustainable future.

Electrify 2515 (it’s a postcode!) aims to create one of Australia’s first all electric communities. Come and hear Electrify 2515 Coordinator, Kristen McDonald, describe this exciting project, what it involves, why it matters and how we can all take steps to make the transition to clean energy a reality.

It’s not just government and big business that leads the transition to renewable energy. If enough ordinary households made the switch that would make a massive difference to our national emissions as well as cutting household energy costs. That's why Rewiring Australia is working with a broad range of communities and individuals across Australia to accelerate and support households on their journey of electrifying. This work is helping families and communities save money on their power bills, create healthier homes and reduce their carbon emissions.

Kristen McDonald, Mobilisation and Engagement Manager at Rewiring Australia, will share some of this work, including with Electrify 2515, a group in her own home town in NSW's Illawarra  looking to create one of Australia's first all-electric communities.

For nearly 20 years Kristen has worked on climate change, environmental and social justice campaigns. A communications, education and engagement specialist, Kristen is passionate about empowering communities to bring about change. She is one of the founding members of community group, Electrify 2515, and works with Rewiring Australia to create electric communities across Australia.
