Thinking about electrifying your home, but not sure where to start?

Join Inner West Community Energy for Electrify Inner West, a free community expo at Leichhardt Town Hall. The event brings together practical advice, local experience and trusted information to help households make clearer decisions about home energy upgrades.

You can visit stalls, ask questions, speak with people who have already electrified their homes, and join a Q&A-led forum with electrification specialists. Topics include:

At 11am, hear a special opening address from The Hon Peter Garrett AM FTSE, the renowned Australian musician and environmental advocate, on why household electrification matters. Then put your questions to a panel of installers, independent experts and local householders who have electrified their homes.

Organisations joining us include Sigenergy, Sungrow, Same Day Hot Water, Lynton Electrical, Tillman Electrical Services, ACE Catlin Electrical, Renew, Pingala, Allume, the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), and Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON).

Who should come

The event is for people who live in the Inner West, City of Sydney, Strathfield, Canada Bay or Burwood council areas, including:

• homeowners, 

• apartment owners, 

• anyone who wants independent, non-technical advice before making home energy decisions.

Event format

10:00am to 11:00am: Stalls open, informal conversations and one-to-one questions

11:00am to 12:00pm: Special opening address from Peter Garrett, followed by an audience-led Q&A with installers, independent experts and local householders with electrification experience.

12:00pm to 1:00pm: Stalls reopen for follow-up questions and practical next steps

The formal forum is designed around audience questions rather than long presentations.

What to bring

Bring your questions, a recent energy bill, appliance questions, or any quotes you are trying to understand. You do not need technical knowledge to attend.
